First Baptist Church officially formed a Senior Adult ministry group in 1985. The group exists to encourage and care for one another in all kinds of ministries – and to provide lots of Christian fellowship.

They selected the name “Happy Hearts” forthe group, based on Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine . . . “

They meet on the second Thursday of each month. They start at 10:00 AM with a special program, followed by a Pot Luck luncheon. Sometimes they meet at a local restaurant.

Throughout the year, they enjoy many trips - some as near as Palmetto, or as far away as the Holy Land! The trips are deliberately planned to include a variety of short or long and near or far, to accommodate the varied interests and abilities in our group.
