Invitation to all knitters and crocheters!
This includes winter residents.
The purpose of this ministry is to show our love and God’s love in a tangible form to those who are hurting. Comfort shawls are handcrafted with prayer interwoven among the stitches. We pray as we work, whether the recipient is known or unknown. The comfort shawls may be given to men and women who are grieving the loss of a loved one, someone facing a serious illness or dealing with an unexpected emotional crisis.
If you would like to be involved in this ministry or for more information, contact
Dianne Evans at (941) 755-9738 or Mary Burns at (941) 798-9595.

Encouragement Ministry
This ministry is designed to encourage and inspire women who have lost their spouse and desire
connection with other widows. Widows in God’s Service offers caring friendship, compassion and
unconditional love. Activities and events are planned monthly. At any age, there are unique needs of
women that can only be fully understood if we have walked in their steps. As Christians, we are instructed
in God’s Word to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by
the world (James 1:27). We have a responsibility as women to help identify the interests and special needs of
our sisters in Christ. If you would like more information about how to become involved with WINGS contact
Jo Ann Fortson at 941-758.5168, jofortson@aol.com or Judy Arnold at 941-761.2470.
